We may be having baked ziti for dinner after all. Thank you Learning Tower!

A little at a loose end? Around here we're entertaining ourselves with naked toddler jousting. Come on over!

SOS
Dear Internets,
Please help me find Owen's bear! O. is very attached to this little brown bear lovey. VERY VERY VERY attached. We have only one which is scary and it worries me to take him place although O. asks for it over and over when we're out. I have looked high and low for another one.
I have traced it back to its source - it was purchased in early 2008 for S. at a store called Tuesday Morning in Portland, Oregon. The tag reads "Blankets and Beyond" and has yellow footprints on it.
If you see another one, please please let me know. Or better yet, buy it! I'll reimburse.
When I was at university I babysat for a little girl. She was VERY VERY attached to a little pink elephant. Her mom had a grocery bag full of them - like literally dozens and dozens. She said that she bought every one that she could get her hands on. I get that now.
Thank you thank you!

S. was up from 10PM-2AM last night. Absolutely no discernible reason. No fever. Coughing to be sure, but nothing acute. Alternating between being completely hysterical and being kind of sane. She decided to start the day at 6AM. Needless to say, she's really bringing her A game this morning.
We're out of kitchen garbage bags. This is a BAD thing when your kitchen trash is also your diaper pail.
The weather report for tomorrow looks really icky.
Both boys are cutting their incisors. One of the joys of identical twins. As teeth emergence is largely genetic, babies with identical DNA are going to get them at the same time.
Car is in the shop for a rogue check engine light. Garage was non-committal. How come I always feel as though they know they've got you coming and going?
Dishwasher is making a weird noise.
It is going to be a GREAT day.

Ho ho ho!
After a busy and somewhat festive Saturday we decided to bite off a big one and take the kids to Zoolights at the Stone Zoo last night. We are never out and about with the kids after dinner so this was a special treat. I will say for all you schedule hounds out that that we were most definitely home by 630PM and had all of the kids in bed by 7. We don't mess with that.
Anyway, the zoo. The lights. The very cold looking animals. The lights were excellent. Many were up close so that S. could "touch it." She was very into that. C. and O. thought that the lights were nice as well. Of course they had the obligatory Santa so we thought that we would make a go of it. One out of two isn't bad!
From the looks of the picture, Santa was just about as impressed with us as we were with him.
Note: No babies were harmed in the taking of this photo. They spent all of five seconds on Santa's lap while the photo was snapped and I was literally just out of the view of the camera and within scooping distance of Master C. who was not at all happy with the man in red.
S. wanted NO PART in the Santa thing. NO PART AT ALL. We weren't surprised and didn't even attempt to get her anywhere near him. Fine. We managed until she had to walk within ten feet of his chair to get out of the Santa area. That was not at all fine. That kid really has a good set of lungs on her. Thankfully there were some animatronic penguins just outside and that turned things around. Thank goodness for penguins.

How steadfast are your branches!
The Christmas tree has been acquired.
It didn't go super well. It was starting to snow so we were all a little wet and cold. S. was pretty upset when the well-meaning middle schooler picked up the tree that we had established was ours (read: hers) and sawed off the bottom of it.
She did, however, turn it around when it came time to decorate it.

Grandma Z. sent us this comic:

We enjoyed a really great trip to the Boston Children's Museum this morning. We became members and can now take advantage of their early opening. It tends to get crowded but from 9-10AM the place was ours!
The best moment? When, in the middle of the ball room, (which pretty much just blew C. and O.'s respective minds into next week) S. pulled down her pants AND undies and announced that she had to pee. We moved pretty quickly to the nearest bathroom.
This afternoon we are endeavoring to pick out our Christmas tree. As S. is quite upset about the arrival of the stockings hung by the mantel with care and the displayed Christmas cards I'm not expecting it to go particularly well. Especially when she realizes that we're bringing it home.

Smells like roses
Dear Granddad,
Mom wanted us to be the bearers of bad news. On New Year's Day there is a Law and Order marathon followed by a 90210 (the original!) marathon on television. As we only have one set you'll have to forgo watching your beloved Ducks play in the Rose Bowl. Sorry! Hope you'll still come for Christmas.
Love,
Sarah, Owen and Cole
P.S. Quack quack!

This morning my 13 month old said poop poop poop and proceeded to squat and fill his pants.
Toilet training prodigy? A mom can dream . . .
I suspect that he'll repeat this the next time that the kids can run around outside in t-shirts on December 3rd. Seriously, this weather is amazing!
Think that potty training is one of those buy two get one free things?
